RTW: Rome Total Realism Patch Out
« on: February 26, 2005, 06:15:27 PM »
The Rome Total Realism Patch is out today for v1.2 of Rome Total War. This is the must have upgrade. And for those that are unfamiliar with it takes RTW from a action type RTS to full realism and is an incredible addon.

Enjoy.

Ideally you have to do a fresh install, install the new RTW 1.2 patch and then install RTR Patch. No your saved games won't work.

There is alot to RTR your better looking at the site and reading some of the forums there. Basiclly it improves every aspect of the game from the dumb down arcasdish version to the strategy game it should be. Especially the 3D battles, adds more units corrects others etc. No longer get infantry that  can outrun cavalry and suicide generals. At the highest level both the 2D campaign and 3D battles are very very tough.

Thats a game mod, not a patch.

Patch = fixes, enhancements etc from the game developer.

Mod = enhancements from a 3rd party programmer.

*edit* Mod also = use at your own risk :D

This MOD then has been used for along time and I haven't played RTW without since it first came out. IMHO RTW out of the boxed is dumbed down as if it's made for an xbox or something and not very challanging. With the MOD it's a much better strategy game alot harder. And what it should of been from the developers instead of trying to appeal to the graphics crowd.

Like Hearts Of Iron original it's ok but add the AI and CORE mod and it's far superior. Just looking forward to the community to fixing up HOI 2.
