hehe, you old buggers were almost killing and dying when i was still at school!

my first ever kill, indeed my first ever online game, came in AH1.

I ho'ed some other guy and never wanted to fly anything but the Chog again.....untill i died 5 seconds later and had no perks left.

believe it or not, this was on my first ever day of online flight.

i was a natural pilot from birth though, always played with model planes and that rather than HE-MAN figures and Transformers (robots in disguise, the evil decepticons! Octomus prime....wait...chit...i did play transformers sometimes.) went flying in a cessna before i could walk, and always dreamed of being an astronaught or a fighter pilot.

shame i still suck! :rofl

and when MS flightsim 3.1 came as standard with a new PC (dos operating 186cpu :lol) i was hooked from day one.

PS: i cherry picked HiTech a few months back! woot! have i 'made it'?
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

My first kill was in SVGA Air Warrior in about Jan '93 and it was in a Hog against a Zeke. It cost me $13 an hour to get it because Air Warrior on GEnie at the time was $6 an hour, but I didnt have a local node so I had to add the $7 long distance phone call to my expense. Some of my monthly bills looked like a Defence Department weapons project cost. Whenever I see some noob whine about "We pay $15 a month for THIS?!?" it makes me shake my head and laugh. I get a vastly superior product with unlimted hours of use for what I used to pay for ONE hour of Air Warrior. I pinch myself everytime I think about what a great deal AH is.

My first kill was also the luckiest shot I ever got... It was flying Red Baron I (DOS Based) On INN (Imagination Network)  I was flying a Fokker DR1 for the Airheads Squadron and got a lucky squeeze in on none other than PS Pihrahna (Pigstompers)  Bring my DR1 to AH!!!  Then everyone will demand it be perked 3 days later!  ;-)

The kill I remember most was my checkbook when I opened my first local long distance bill to GEnie.

$6 + $7 local long distance per hour = $13 an HOUR Air Warrior.

It's a dedicated bunch who still play after initiations like that.

And now $15 a MONTH unlimited Aces High?  Thank you, HiTech.

Computer cable access still extracts its pound of flesh, but the Prince of Ghouls was that local long distance (i.e., calls to adjoining state) telephone extortion.
