OK I confess, I had an ulterior motive in asking you gents for the 80th skins
Once word of the new 38s came and the skinning possibilites along with it, an old idea came back for me which was to start up the 80th FS Headhunters in AH.
Back in an AW scenario a buddy and I GL'd FL'd the Headhunters. Being a history nut, I dove into the history of the Headhunters and got hooked. We Had Corky and Porky flights in the Scenario for Corky Smith and Porky Cragg of the 80th. We'd talked off and on about creating the Headhunters ever since.
The skins were the last straw so I went and did it. So if you see CorkyJr flying Bish with the Headhunters, say hello as that's me.
So here's the first landing of an AH Headhunter after the skins arrived. I went up and ran into an LA5 and had a knock down drag out 1 v 1. He got me smoking but after lots of dancing around, I got a cockpit shot and finished him off before the left engine gave out. I nursed it home and put the old 38G down.
I can't tell you how much those 80th skins add to the immersion for this history nut
BTW since folks seem to refer to me as Guppy most often. Guppy was the nickname of a P38 pilot in my favorite fighter pilot book
