Skuzzy can you post the nessecary parts and what part of the software needed to build a linux server. My goal is to try to rejoin the game later this year but need to share connection with three other computers. Aslo what are your thoughts on the new fiber optics is it worth getting as it is now in my nieghborhood.

Long time no see.

You want a file server or a router, or a combination of both?

I assume you are talking about Verizon's new FIOS service. I have already pre-signed up for it. It looks promising on paper.

Looking for a internet server dont need a file server the only thing I will have on it is 3 computers and one printer that has plenty of memory it self.

I forgot to add I am talking about the Verizon FIOS. Yes it has been long time my email was still applink had to change it to my Verizon email.

Looks like they are laying fiber optic cable in my hood.
But who really knows how long before they can bring it to my door.

I lave out in the country, more or less, and no high-speed internet is offered near me, period. I'm on a waiting list for High-speed when my phone company gets around to it, which will likely be several years.
However, the phone company laid Fiber Optic lines through my front yard, under my driveway, and for who-knows-how-many miles down the road. What's up with that? Can these be used for high-speed internet? How do I go about checking into this, is it something different then the lines you folks are referring to?
