"Man Tasered By Police In Salad Bar Dispute
Aurora Police Say Proper Procedures Followed At Chuck E. Cheese"
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/4242058/detail.htmleyewitness:
"One of the officers kept poking the gentleman in the chest," Felicia Mayo told the Rocky Mountain News.
"They beat this man in front of all these kids then Tased him in my sister's lap," Mayo told the newspaper. "They had no regard for the effect this would have on the kids. This is Chuck E. Cheese, you know."
Police version:
"According to witnesses (Gale) refused to cooperate with police and a struggle ensued," said Larry Martinez, a police spokesman. He said that Gale became argumentative and shoved one of the officers, a fact disputed by another patron.
(if the story is accurate where are the details.. the police will cover themselves (lawsuits) with more elaborate report than the above if they had a leg to stand on..) Elaborate "refused to cooperate." If that includes poking someone in the chest and they saying "you dont need to do that" then tell it as it happened; not "refused to cooperate" Trial lawyer will eat this up so will the judge..
DoctorYo's input:
This guy just won the lottery.. He doen't know it yet but he did... City of Denver / Chucky Cheese's bend over and grab them ankles..
One if this witness (Mayo) is of no relation to Gale (salad snatcher) then expect no mercy....
Poking in the chest is battery...
Reckless endangerment of the mans kids by leaving them in the facility while arresting their dad..
Reckless endangerment of the other patrons in the facility.. (firing tasers in room full of kids)
Reckless endangerment of tasering the suspect while in contact with another patron holding her child (sic)
Even if the suspect was stealing / larceny even if he loaded his plate 20 times the total cost of the larceny was under 20 dollars.. Thats not justification for weapon discharge in room full of kids..
What ever happened to police using a arm bar / thumb lock to subdue the suspect... escorting him out side and removing him from the premisis. Are our police that untrained that they think discharging their taser in chucky cheeses as proper procedure over petty larceny.
I expect law suits flying from various parents who were in attendence to include duress, emotional cruelty child endangerment.. etc.. (if this guy was smart he would file a child endangerment report with Department of Children and families.. They will then investigate and roll some heads... Use their evidence in your civil trial against the city Police / Chucky Cheeses (hence using state resources as your own private investigator..)
Chucky Cheeses will get rocked Denver police will get rocked , you watch.. (doesn't matter if this guy was in the wrong or not..)
