Ok I agree with most of what's been said except this statement.  Currently it's not really fair to the bombers have 6 guns on board and only be able to track 1 target or 0 targets if you're in the bombsite calibrating/dropping eggs.  The bomber being big and slow is already at a disadvantage.  If cyber-life was fair in this game each gun would auto track the closest target and all of them would work on auto while you were in the bombsite.  That would at least make shooting down a bomber a challenge.

Ehhhh... well if you have one gunner, he can shoot and all 10 or 12 guns and they will shoot if they are able at whatever he is aiming at.  You are right, this sounds like a pretty rough break to me.  2 guys can fly, calibrate, drop 42,000 lbs of bombs, and control 12 50cal guns all at the same time.  I already hear people say that they won't go in on bombers anymore because they are too powerful.  They are also incredibly strong.

I'm sorry, you haven't sold me on this one yet... but my mind is still open..

I dont recall ever having trouble filling up my gunner positions in AW.  On the other hand, I play so infrequently I can barely kill a bomber as is!  I think it would be fun though.:aok

I enjoy buffin from time to time. I also did nothin but buffin and gunnin back in AW. IMO, the lack of multiple people is more than made up for by 3 planes, ablitly to fire all guns at 1 target and bomber toughness.

As for the following statement by puff:

Wouldn't be much of a mission if you're spread all over the map now would it?

Not to sound nasty but if you all up at 1 time and can't hold a formation that's your fault. If during flight some of you are shot down then they can jump on various planes so multiple people can shoot from various aircraft. EX: You up 8 bombers, you have 8 different people for 8 different targets as well as a massive bomb load. If 1/2 dies then they jump onto remaining 4 and you still have 8 guys able to attack 8 different bandits.

if all the guns were to be unmanned or not auto, then the whole concept of the flying fortress and buff formations are pooched. all the guns firing is what kept those birds alive. But, as stated before this is a game and shouldn't be confused with how things were actually done. Just curious who were the knights in ww2 and who was the rooks and oh ya the bishops were, who agian?
