Net Status
« on: March 04, 2005, 01:51:57 AM »
I'm not sure if it's me or some route I'm hitting but I've got some weird issues with my Host Queue times.  It seems every night at around 1130 PST my host queue goes nuts.

It is normally a nice saw tooth pattern.  Once I start having issues I check my net status and it's a mixture of saw tooth and a square wave forms.  It's almost guaranteed anytime I start getting this particular pattern I get dumped with a UDP loss.  I'll get a saw tooth, delayed square back to a saw tooth.  Nothing I've done changes this.

I've got two differenct connections in my house that I've switched to anytime this happens to see if it's my ISP.  One is Verizon DSL and the other is Adelphia Cable.  There's absolutely no change with either provider.  I've ran ping plotter to find my path in the past but my subscription is out of date.  I do know that I go from LAX to Denver Saavis.  It goes from 22 ms normally to between 53 and 73 max before I hit the HTC server.  I've got screen shots but have no where to post them from the ingame host queue.  I'll get a subscription for ping plotter to get a readout off that again.

I do know other West Coast users were seeing the same host queue patterns I was once the UDP losses started to dump folks out of the server.

Oh and I do have all my auto updaters turned off.
