Movie Trivia question
« on: March 10, 2005, 12:27:08 PM »
Can you think of any actors/actresses who have appeared in the original version of a movie, and have then appeared in a remake of that movie, but in a different role?

I can think of two right away, but there might be more.

Post away...

Remakes.. with cameo by original actors...

Planet of the Apes (Charleton Heston cameo)

Shaft (Richard Rountree has a cameo)

IMHO if Sean Connery does not get a cameo in one of the
future bond films, it would be a crime.

JB73 was close (no cigar) - it was Cape Fear, but the actor was Gregory Peck.

Thomas Crown/Faye Dunaway was correct.

Are there any more besides these?

I can think of the Time Machine.  Poor scientest from the 19th century builds a time machine after losing his woman to try to save her life.  Winds up in the future where traditional 'humans' are used as food for underground humans.  The original actor played a guy (I don't remember the names...sadly) who delt with the new actor.  Yep...nothing like precision.

umm:

Robert Mitchum as Max Cady in the original 1962 version

Robert Mitchum as Lieutenant Elgart in the 1991 remake

they were BOTH in both movies as different roles

The new "The Longest Yard" has Burt Reynolds as the Coach, whereas he was the Quarterback in the Original.

Don't know if that counts, since it's not out yet :p
