An interesting read about a female pilot in Nazi Germany.  She flew everything from gliders, helicopters, 163's and even a piloted V1  !!!

"The world's first female test pilot became known for her courage as she took on many unbelievably dangerous jobs, including testing a V-1 flying bomb equipped with a cockpit"

Lots of info about her on the web, definitely a pioneer for female  pilots.

The russian womens flying squadron " Night Witches" is an interesting read. Do a search online and read up...they had alot of fun badgering the german front line at night dropping anything they could to keep the germans awake and sleep-deprived.
