Terrain Editor Update
« on: January 26, 2001, 04:03:00 PM »
A new version of the terrain editor is now available from the download page.  Terrains made with a previous editor version are still compatible with this version.  Docs have not yet been updated to the new version.  Here are some of the new features:

Joystick button 3 now needs to be held down in order to move.  This eliminates any drift while in the editor.

Ships and ports can now be added to the terrain.  These new object groups are shipped with this version.  When creating a fleet, the first ship you lay down will be the controlling ship.  Its object data must be set to the controlling port number.

Fields can now be renumbered using the "swap field" button.  This allows two different fields to swap field numbers.  This process can be repeated to allow field numbers to be laid out on the map in whatever pattern you desire.

There is a new function to check for water tiles that aren't at sealevel.  This is useful for finding unintential "hills" of water out in the ocean.

The data type field for AA guns is no longer used.  The characteristics of auto-AA guns are now automatically set by the shape type.
