Treated in such a manner? Or acting out in such a manner?

Either way, same diff. We're talking about a five year-old kid, with no insight whatsoever into anything else.

All we know is that she went berzerk.

How does the word "race" even get introduced here?

And why do I feel like I'm always getting only half the story?

Would you ever tie up your child hand and foot and lock them in a car because of a tantrum?

I've seen so many totally ***'d up kids, that I don't know what else would be a better message.
Some of the kids are simply mentally ill or something and might snap off at any moment.
Of the kids I've seen, I'm amazed they haven't managed to actually kill or seriously injure anyone.

In my opinion those kids are better when they're removed from the class, for the sake of the other kids (and the teachers!)
Teachers can't teach them anything, they'll be the accused ones if they even try to.
They just have to bare with them from day to day.

If it's just one time thing for the kid or something like that, then I don't see a reason for this.
But those who do it repeatedly, needs to be something done for, at least the other kids deserves a peaceful and unfearful enviroment.

This child clearly has a serious addiction problem and should be sent to a Jelly Belly Rehab Center immediately.

It's true though that this kid is probably a lost cause.  At 5 years old kids know right from wrong and good from bad.  They know actions have consequences.

To blame the school for this is absolutly ludacris it really is.  This is a product of her home environment...not the schools.

if she didn't know they had consequences, she probably does now.

the mother owes the school and the cops a thank you.  I wish everyone didn't think they had to cater to the feelings of whiny, unreasonable people.

just tell them the kid is none the worse for wear, and was given a useful warning (which the mother has negated by complaining about the schools actions, making the kid think she was right).  someone should just tell the mother to STU and go home.

if the mother sues, the teacher who got kicked should sue the mother for raising the kid.

my money is the "child" has an arrest record in less than 12 years...

and you are right, should start at home

should have cuffed the mother as well...

I am glad they removed the kid, I would not want my grand daughter to have to put up with that behavior

bet the other kids will think twice before having an outburst in that class :)

This child won't. Mommy said it was okay by claiming setup & getting ready to sue the school.

Yup, that's spot on.  My daughter is very observant of her mom's behavior.  If the parent opens her trap like this than the girl, even at 5 years old, feels justified in her behavior.

Indy even if she doesn't oh well.  She'll be in a juvenile detention center before long.  If she's lucky she'd be taken away from her irresponsible mother before it gets that bad.  One way or the other it will take one more juvenile delinquent off our streets.

People who abuse the courts system like this by screaming "setup" are no better than the people who play the race card when infact it's not about racism but about their inabilities to do the job.  The more people try abuse the system the worse it will be for everyone else.  The people who were really "setup" will pay the price.

Oh, I whole-heartedly agree. I was just making an observation. Most of the kids I grew up with have turned out exactly like their parents, for better or for worse. It just makes me realise how lucky I am to have the parents I do.

Here's your discipline in schools:  If you don't stop you're going to the dean (or principal).  They go down to the principal "here take this sheet stating your disciplinary problems and have your parents sign it.

The problem with this method is when kids start to get several of these per school year its not even a punishment but an inconvienience.  I'm all for discipline in schools because i'm sick of wasting my time on some idiot who won't do what he's supposed to, rap him on the hand with a ruler or something.

Hell i think it was a good idea.
Maybe it scared the little darling enogh to think twice about acting out again?

I went to a private boarding school in 9th and 10th grades and they had a system.
Dont make your bed or screw around in class you got a pink slip.

To work off a pink slip you had a choice of running 2 miles , cleaning out the horse stalls or taking to swats on the butt with what looked like a criket paddle.

It worked for me LOL

You must have been easy.

The only thing a teacher that thumped me at school got back  from me was resentment ,never respect.
