Yes a fiction! Of course.

But an interesting idea put forward a long time ago about how a society might develop. I'm not saying that is word for word what we have got. That would of course be dumb. But open your mind a little and you can see some areas where Orwell was prophetic. That's what makes great literature. I'm not for one minute saying we live in Orwell's world. Simply that some of the things he wrote about appear to have been attempted either conciously or unconciously by various govts from time to time. And at the moment the Bush administration would seem to be attempting the perpetual war approach to foreign policy.

As for which country is going down the pan I would say no Western Govt cmpletely but all our leaders have used the old technique of creating enemies abroad to divert us from the **** ups and problems at home that might cost them our vote. A good example of that was Maggie's falklands  adventure. Bush has attempted the same thing with his axis of evil and war on terror cobblers. I'd say the US is in for a rough time ahead with a plummeting dollar and huge national debt. But I'm no economist so maybe I'm wrong. Just an opinion guys.

Oh and before all the pathetic amerihater paranoia starts this isn't just about the US its probably more about Rich nations and poor ones and I'd include the UK in the richer nations camp.

You work this crap in like it is actualy gonna fly here. Do you have two friggen brain cells that actualy fire in unison?
Keep your above statement in mind for the following of your statements........

Very shallowly buried dog crap still smells bud.
You have an obsession with the U.S. That is obvious. The moronic thing is you keep doing the same stupid watermelon over and over and think it`s going to fly.
Zulu/Americon/Skydancer <---------That should be a hint for any one with a brain there. Here`s your sign.

Just incase you don't open the other thread I'll repeat myself.

"Oh dear. You do have a very one sided view of the world! Ithink it goes something like this. Guns and everything America and American Citizens say = intelligent righteous and good.

Anything suggested by a BBs member outside the US = stupid nonsensical and bad.

What a closed minded dull little world you must live in. Nevermind I don't have to live there. Go on see if you can open yopur mind a little. It's fun you know and you might learn something. Of course you could try to enlighten me as to how wonderful, the version of America you guys constantly spout, is rather than resorting to the old waaaa waaa euro brit zulu you know nothing (insert insult) cr*p."

Now go on see if you can do it. Mr "big mouth it off" internet man.

Any chance you might ever debate an issue rather than yell and scream insults.

I don't have an obsession. As has been pointed out to me many times this is a US board so quite obviously many of the discussions are going to revolve around US issues. So therefore as I'm here and interested wouldn't it seem logical that I'm going to discuss US issues!?

If you think I'm wrong then rather than confirm all my worst opinions about you by shouting and screaming insults why not engage in a discussion? Is that realy too much to ask? Amazingly some of us Europeans Brits etc actualy are interested in the US. And what you guys think. It seems the case is not true in reverse.

Finaly Jackal1 it amazes me that whilst other people have been blocked from this board  you are contin ualy allowed to bait, insult and generaly spout your stuff all you like. But then what do I know about such things eh?

Quit getting so wound up and if you don't like it ignore it. You can do that you know. I shan't mind!

k

If by debate you mean that I should buy into your antiAmerican spewing, you can forget it.
Debate is a two way street.

I could certainly care less about your opinion of me. I`m not too terribly fond of people that bashs my country repeatedly. especialy when they have absolutely no say so or has proven themselves to be antiAmerican.
Yes, you are quite correct in saying that some Brits/Europeans are interested in the U.S. What they don`t do is come to a U.S. based board, owned by a U.S. company and start slandering the U.S. They get along just fine here and most seem like great guys. So....what do you think your problem might arise from here? Any clue?

Evidently , absolutely nothing.
I`m sorta amazed you haven`t been banned for the 3rd time.

I guess you don't realize reforming the middle-east has been the Neo-Conservitive platform since before Sep. 11th .....

Bush only uses 9/11 as a tool to meet his ends .... I wonder why NY didn't vote for Bush if he's such a defender?

your so ignorant it's funny.....

funny part is how the media now accepts this plan and forgets the WMD ploy ........  If you'd bother reading about the neo-cons before this you might have realized the plans

I read them, and was at protests before the war started.  I don't buy into their 'civilization building'.  Seems the media loves the idea now ... nevermind WMD's.

the new american century

somehow the North Korean model would look good to me from the Iranian POV

I'd be amazed if the persians didn't defend themselves ..... and thier way of life;  Who are we to judge ... oh wait .. Bush talks to God, that's right

and don't give me crap about human rights ... if the US cared, we'd be in Africa.

Iranian nuke program is very, very new.

see that is just proably where you and me differ .....I don't see it as worth it to bring 'democracy' to the middle east .....

The tens of thousand of Iraqies dead ... maybe over 100,000

The nearing 2000 dead ameriacns

The huge debt

to gain what?  I'd really like to know what we as a nation gain out of this besides OIL?

==============================

KGB would say it's a capitlist ploy   And from thier POV they'd be right.  A war of profit for a few.

Have you heard of fluoridation?  It's posion ..... I hear the terrorists are going to put it in the water supply!

I agree with you mate. A voice of sanity in amongst the paranoia and knee jerk nonsense!

Our Govt got us entangled too and I think we're getting even less out of it. Most of the contracts for rebuilding the place are going to US companies.

:)
