Why can't we bail out of our gv's? It's just a matter of opening a door isn't it?

This way, one could ditch a tank which got stuck or flipped and walk to a (near) base.

you can frank..hit enter 3 times..just liek bailing out of plane

or bail out with your 45 and hide in the map room. But Im sure you werent thinking of that.
