There's a good article on the copyright issues surrounding Mein Kampf at http://www.cabinetmagazine.org/issues/10/mein_royalties.php

Good Bavarian intentions. Bavarian beer is good too.
But in my opinion my kin folks (I'm directly related to the same celtic tribe as the native Bavarians) are making a big mistake.
"Mein Kampf" should be studied by students in every school, and every page of Hitler's book should be accompanied with the opposing page of critical commentary. That's how it should be done.
Period.
"Preventing publication" is BS'y way to deal with Nazi propaganda.

Now we have "Dr" Goebels's diaries, Hitler's "Mein Kampf", [another "Dr"] Alfred Rosenberg's notes for the "arianization" of Ukraine and other Ostland territories. And somebody enjoys the benefits brought in by the
possession of copyrights on these writings ?

This have to be stopped !

Hm. In a preface to Ribbentrop's memoirs (written in jail and not finished because of the execution) I have read that copyrights don't apply to work of this criminals, at least their families don't get any royalties.

It's an interesting question, needs to be researched.
