I had one I bought new in 76. It was a good bike but if you are going to do any dirt riding on it you'll need to raise the suspension on it a bit and change the gear ratio. It should be geared too tall for trail riding. Does it have the larger 5 gallon tank or the smaller 3.5? If the larger, you can get smaller tanks but I don't know of any for it made of plastic.
The front shocks came with 5 wt oil and you can make them stiffer by changing to 10 or 15wt.
There is a Clymer manual for working on it. They are fairly simple to work on but there are a few really nasty gotcha's if you are not careful. One is the diode board in the fron of the engine. Make darn sure you have the battery disconnected before you take off the front cover. It's extremely easy to fry that board and there goes the charging system. The charging system on that model is marginal at best as well.
