The C-17 uses a large checkerboard pattern on the side of the airframe covered with a chalk like substance.  When they toss a dummy out if it impacts the checkboard they can see exactly where it hit.  They also have cameras mounted to film the drop.  If the J is doing this type of testing it should have the same exact thing on the side of it.

Yup we do FOD walk past them every day :aok

I don't have to do those anymore considering NASA has the only flying F-15 left here on base.  :D

Not...  so tough a call as I might have suspected.

Gotta remember the high brass that makes these decisions also have their special interest groups.

Alot of these guy are probably not too far away from retirement. Many will be getting jobs in the real world.
Not a hard guess as to where many will be working.

what better way to insure yourelf a job then to help out your perspective employer.

congress on the other hand just want money flow into their discricts.

Looks like a loose loose situation to me

I know when the C130J was delivered to the RAF they had loads of problems with it.  Lockheed spent $millions trying to get the aircraft right but it still isn't perfect.  It was reported that it actually cost them money to supply the 'J' model to the RAF.

The RAF are buying four US-leased C17s and purchasing an additional one.  They'll be buying the Airbus A400M to replace the C130.

You can't say that after he's already jumped to conclusions.  Come on....
