How many 51's are registered as operational?

AND...

Somebody said Tom Cruise owns one. Is that true?

I went to Mustangs and Legends at Kissimmee a few years back (1999 or 2000?). It was great! P-51s and the pilots that made them legendary rather than Ford pony cars ;)

I saw Chuck Yeager and Robin Olds. Almost every living Air Force pilot I ever read about was there. I was very impressed. Of course, almost every flyable P-51 in the country was there as well. P-51s were everywhere.

It also happens to be the weekend before the big fly-in, which should increase the number of planes there considerably.
