Rescue Mission Name: Behind enemy lines
Mission brief;
A pilot has been reported down behind enemy lines. The mission is to rescue the pilot and bring him back home.
A pilot will fly over enemy territory and bail out (or ditch). He will parachute to the ground and only be able to communicate over the channel 200 in the game. This will make it as if the enemy is listening to his transitions. The downed airman may communicate as much as he wants on channel 200.
What the pilot cannot do.
The pilot may not use the map to vector in or use it in anyway to help, communicate or see where the friendly aircraft are. Even today, those capabilities are not feasibly available (bad guys will pick up the radar signal). This will ruin the scenario and the mission. The pilot may not communicate on any channel but channel 200.
The rescue aircraft must be a 2 seat aircraft or vehicle of some kind. If it is an aircraft, it must land at which time the airman my join the person flying the aircraft. The pilot will them takeoff and RTB. The rescued airman may operate any armament on the aircraft, but may not fly it.
If the rescue vehicle is a ground vehicle, the downed airman must wait until the vehicle in within 500k. Then he can join with that driver. The rescued airman may operate any armament on the vehicle, but may not drive it.
Mission Success; Airman is returned to any allied base.
Mission failure; Airman is killed or captured.
Allied air forces may use any aircraft or vehicle available and up from any allied locations.
Axis air forces may use any aircraft or vehicle available and up from any Axis locations.
