So is short I give you Big Kudos! for your ideas, but do not get too upset if it never comes to pass.

I'm not quite sure where you are getting the "change around here is stagnant at best" idea.  A lot was changed in the new version (AH2).  I am not sure how long you have been playing so maybe you haven't been privvy to all of the changes here recently.  These changes are big, mind you...  ENY Limiter, Bombsight changes, a few new planes/vehicles, fuel porking, base layouts, tons of visual enhancements and many more.

I think folks are getting a little ansy here lately because we had quite a few updates in a short time span, now everyone is chomping at the bit for a new one.  Your ideas, as well as Dipper's have been proposed many times before, and that is why you see some of the responses that you have.  People here are not trying to be mean, but try to give you a little history as to what was once here and how things were handled in the past.

They aren't bad ideas, and good for you for sharing them, but they both have some negative affects.

I've only been here a short time but some times this board reminds me of a shampoo bottle (lather rinse repeat).

If you want relaxed realism go somewhere else. It is available in many places other than HT. Otherwise take the time and LEARN to fly.

Don't see it. Why reward peeps for their lazyness. As stated a million times here this "game" takes time to learn and get good at. I know it's taking me time and yes it gets frustrating but I sure don't want it to be made easier for me.

Who's gonna go into the relaxed realism arena? Certainly not the good sticks. Therefor it turns into a loser dweeb arena where new peeps go because they think it will be a good place to start out and get turned off on the game becuase of the noskill/losers in there.

Only friendly Icons? You can do that for yourself if you want (alt I).  Icons are a help because this IS a sim with the poor depth perception that a computer screen gives you and we all fly the same planes so there is no enemy plane set to recognize friend from foe.

Also, I just don't see the problems in the MA. Yes the are the HO dweeps, the fun nazis, etc... Just learn to deal with it. Some night there are good fights some nights there are not.

For all those who have been here for years you have my simpathies. You have to see these posts appear every few weeks/months stating the same old chit!

If twice as many people think an idea is bad than good, then the people who think it is a good idea just might be wrong.

Your agreement with an idea does not prove it's soundness.

BTW, change intrinsically can not be stagnant.

CHILLOUT

If you have ever read my previous post, I am one whoom champions the cause of realism.  I want to see night back in and wind, as well as weather patterns.  I also like the realistic flight modeling over the other semi arcade like alternatives out there.  When I told him that his idea had meritt, I was refering to the way that when ever a proposal is made to add realism there is a generous amout of complainers.  Therefore the separation of the hardcore and the not so hardcore aspect was what deserves merrit, no so much with the arcade style of play.

I hope that made sense :D

Dipper,

You need a thicker skin.  Also, you might try the search button.  It's not like this is a brand new game and you are in on the early develpment.  Some of these folks have been around here for close to 6 years now and have seen almost ALL of these subjects broached before.

duh,

I still get kicked.  But I make kills where I can, belong to an awesome squad, and love this game.  Basically I understand that this game rocks, and that new playes have to pay their dues.  However I do not see what is wrong with a sharing of ideas?  mean I for example love the MA as is, I merely regret the fact that night and weather are missing.  Other thatn that this game rocks.  So in short....

Please let us act with all civility and not bash the free flow of ideas from any members of our much beloved comunity, lest we indeed do wish it to become a cold hardend and insincere place to be.

Oh yeah, and smile alittle...

Of course.  This is where I do my best thinking... all alone in silence (most of the time except following meals at Taco Bell) with just your thoughts and a pungent yet all to familiar aroma.

Speaking of which, for those who care:  I think my diet is working, because as of right now I'm 5 pounds lighter than what I was when I went in for another "thought session" about 10 mins. ago :D

Thanks Howitzer...they are alot of fun to make. I had 3 ideas in my head pertaining to the online sim pilot. One was the hermit/hero in Vol. 1, where hes in his trailer bedroom, the second idea was my imagining how he would try to pick up chicks claiming to be a fighter jock and impress the wimens in Vol.2, and the 3rd was the bug gunsite idea in Vol. 3.

Im gonna hafta scratch me noggin to think of something else Im afraid. Reading this forum is an excellent inspiration though :)
