did HT say there would be 2 other planes? i think there will be 1 more plane and some kind of troop carrying boat. my thinking?
-we really need one cause it takes too long to fly the goon that distance
-we already have a pt boat so it would probably be pretty easy to model another boat
-HT already said the new version would have beaches, why would he put beaches in? cause we need some place to drop the troops off from teh boat.

what boats did they use in europe for beach invasions? you know the kind where the front opens and all the trops run out and onto the beach.

Yea Peeradow, the kind in the start of the movie Saving Private Ryan. where the germans just sat there and aimed at the boats, then when they opened the troops just got mowed down. the only way to survive was to go over the side. i'm looking for them, i'll post when i find what they are called.

They were landing craft Hog.. I think LSVs or LVTs or LSTs or some abbreviation like that. I know it begins with a L! ;-)

Seawulf,
LVT = Landing Vehicle; tank
LST = Landing Ship; tank
LSV = Landing Ship; vehicle

What they used mostly in WW2 for landings was the Higgins boat. It was made mostly from wood, with steel plates here and there for some protection. There was another boat, the LCI (Landing Craft; infantry) which was used for landing troops. Unlike the Higgins boat it was metal and not wood.
