Dumb Question?
« Reply #18 on: April 02, 2005, 10:21:54 AM »
How do I do a ping from XP? I can't find DOS window or a 'run' command.  I hate XP more and more everyday. Everytime I try do do something intelligent I can't figure out how, which makes me feel old and stupid.  Is there a Unix port of AH2? :)

Frylock

Disregard: I just found a 'run' icon - now to see if it works . . .

After logging on, AH goes to load a new map and then locks up.

I was glad to read this because I came here to post the same problem.  I am on dialup.  I was playing this morning early then left for breakfast and chores and now I can't get logged back in.

I checked pings and I am getting good pings and a 190ms response from the AH servers.  BTW this is good for me I usually am at 213ms.

I have reloaded the game from scratch before I got feed up and came here to post for help.

About 10 log in attempts all with either Host connection lost or I get in and everything is Green and I never get a roster.

This is not an issue with our systems or our ISP's that's for sure.  We have a variety of connection types, from different parts of the country and we all seem to be having the same problem.  I doubt Skuzzy or anyone else at HT can fix it because it's out of their hands.  Maybe they should look into finding a different service, but then again, the company with the problem needs to get off thier arses and fix the problem so we can all get our AH fix.

rumor is that AH movin' at least one of their servers from Savis in St. Loo to Dallas.  I HOPE they do so in the near future ish.
