i know that it may sound really dumb and pointless, but i would really like to see open/closeable canopies. if u want to bail, u gotta open it, and it would be so cool if u could open the canopy and look out, to aid takeoff and landing in say, a spit, because of the high nose. it would be a small, stupid, pointless thing to add, but i think it would be really fun!:)

if you have a oil leak you could look out and if the the person on your 6 hits your guy peeking out b00m! instant kill.

I remember back with Janes WWII Fighters before you bailed you had to open the canopy. Sometimes it was stuck from all the damage you took and wouldnt open it. Forcing you to try to ditch your plane and ride it to your doom. I like that idea.

Didn't the 190 has explosive charges to expose of the canopy?

The canopy idea is a good thing for the purpose of imersion, which in my book makes it cool.

It would certainly add to the experience, considering the possibility of stuck canopies. I like it.

No point to opening the canopy in my P38, she doesn't fly so well with it open.

Opening canopies has been sugested before, and its just such a small percentage of the time it would be seen, vs the huge investment in modeling and coding...maybe someday...but it on the back burner.....on the old stove....thats out in the garage.....at grandmas house....in Minesota.

I like the idea of the canopies. I keep mine open like Pappy did in the show looking for the Japs. Then when he spot them he close them and kill all them japs. Then he fly back to base with his canopy opened again. I love to do that.

Also be a cool setting if your plane catches on fire u open your canopy and take a leak on the fire to try and put it out before it blow your, will u know.

thats something else id like to see, fires that go out.

i wonder if htc could add like an emergency fuel dump, or stop and stuff, to turn out fires, and get rid of weight.

P38's canopy open presented a problem on take off, but had little effect while in flight

Well, open canopies are cool. It would make it cool to get a new bailing system that involves actually opening it.
