Elfie

You may being doing yourself a disservice there.

Bat is a great guy to fly against ,always keen to try new things and matchups, has a fun attitude and is a very good stick.

What more could you ask from a duelling partner ?

Being roughly equal in skill is not a bad thing ,  if  you start to kick his butt all the time , you will know you have improved   ;)

Another guy you might want to look for in the DA is Bovidae , you may not have bumped in to him in the MA yet.  Bovi also goes very well.

Elfie, the absolute best kind of dueling partner is one of roughly equal skill.  The two of you will push one another for an advantage.  You'll both try new things, see if this or that works... anything to get just a little bit better than the other guy.

Back in AW and early on in AH, I was fortunate to have Jase as my dueling partner.  As we dueled constantly, we both got better and learned new things.  Nobody became frustrated because the fights were often nailbiters.  After Jase left the game, Nath and I started dueling each other for fun all the time, and we learned a bunch of stuff that way as well.  I can't stress enough that you and Batfink are probably perfect dueling partners.  Keep an open mind.

Also I see Sniper in there on a daily basis, he's also very good. There's a few others I'm leaving out, just come on into the DA an you'll quickly see who the good guys are:)

In the end you should be thankful for those players like us who switch to try and help keep things even because our willingness to do so, helps a more selfish, I want it my way player, get to fly his latewar uber ride.

This is something I hadnt considered until I read it.

I'm now thinking that at least 2 dueling partners is a desirable thing. One that is more skilled than I am and another that is roughly equal skill.

A partner that is roughly equal in skill is desirable for the reasons you mentioned. One would also experience less frustration, since you would win some as well as losing some.

A partner that exceeds your skill level is desirable simply for the learning experiences involved. The frustration level would be higher and hopefully that same frustration would provide more *push* to become better.

Redd, I met Bovidae for the first time in last months KotH. The first time I ran into him I beat him handily and thought *What is this dweeb doing in KotH?*. My opinion of his flight skills changed rapidly and dramatically the very next time I ran into him. :D

Thanks to all of you for your constructive comments.

Batfink.......prepare to die dweeb!! err uhh...I mean....new dueling partner! :D
