"Caddys were desired/owned by two types of people
Jimmy "DI-NO-MITE Walker
And those that were commonly referred to as "Pigs" (and I dont mean cops)
Caddy has always moreso then any other car carried the stigma of people wallowing in their own wealth. Much like pigs wallow in mud. "
Once upon a time, probably 40 or 50 years ago or more, a Cadillac was actually a desireable vehicle to own. Then the name's reputation collapsed much like you say. When I owned one, I frequently got all sorts of comments, ranging from true compliments from old-timers, to much more disparaging remarks from people my own age.
As for the present-day Cadillac, they're not rock-and-roll, but they're not opera, either. "Faceless Mercedes-wannabe" might be the best term to describe the current breed of Cadillac. I've driven most of the current generation, and I wasn't impressed.
I'll stick with my Buick for now--another name which has developed a reputation which is perhaps undeserved.
When it comes to pop, I prefer the normal varieties of Pepsi or Coke or RC or Dr Pepper or such. These new, and silly fad-flavors don't appeal to me and never will.
