Skuzzy (ATI XT800XL 256 meg)

Skuzzy, I just noticed on my screen when in game, in the FPS text where it shows video memory, its says I have 516megs and 112 megs used.  Now my ? is why is it saying I got 516 megs when my card is only a 256 meg card.  I check Dxdiag and it shows 256 there along with the post, and display properties.  Is it possible the game doesn't know how to read the card properly because it new or something curropt within the files of the game?  All other games report it as 256meg.

I am not sure.  It should cause no problems though.

Mine shows more than I actually have also.  I dont think its anything corrupt so much as it is something in the way the game is reading the memory.  Especially if you are setting aside system memory for the video operations, it might be getting a false report on the actual amount of video memory.  Just a theory though.

Its not so unusual either, I've even had diagnostic programs that misreport amounts of RAM on systems that share the system RAM with video.  I've even had IDE hard drives show up as SCSI before.  Stuff happens.
