Im interested in the cv ops.. But how close is close enough to land  lvts? is it the 12 mile ring?

Great write up, I'll go and practice off line now. Maybe answer my own question.

:aok  To "ALL" the folks who were kind enough to answer my query, ur responses were/are appreciated  :aok

A double dose of gratitude & kudos to BulletHead for the detailed
explanations of what 2 do, why & how to accomplish things :)

Thx to fuze for ur explanations & help, there are so many helpful
folks that I'm unable to thank individually, but I want all of u to
know how very grateful I am to everybody sharing their wisdom.

Alas, I am writing this w/total embarrassment, as ALL of ur data
at the present time is of little help to me as I still don't know the
steps, once I am on the CV or cruiser as to how to get to a gun
mount, successfully aim the guns & fire .   In this subject I am
completely at a loss, that's what I meant when I requested basic
steps.

Thanks every1 for ur time & endeavors.

Cheers,

Happy1  :D

Happy, on your clipboard map, find the CV you want to move to.  You can double click on the icon to move you there.  Once there, you should be looking out over the deck of the carrier.  This is the "tower" on the CV.  If all you see is water, and a few ships sailing nearby, that carrier has been sunk.

Look down at the bottom of the clipboard, and you will see some words.  Tower, Hangar, Setup, etc.  Click on "Hangar".  This will take you to the selection screen where you can choose your plane, vehicle, or Guns.  Select "Gun Ship or Field" with your mouse, and then hit ESC to lower your clipboard out of the way.  On a CV, you will see a representation of every ship in the group, along with mannable guns.  On the cruiser, you will have 8" and 5" guns available.  The Carrier will have dual 5" mounts, single 5" mounts, and 40mm AA.  The smaller screening ships will have 20mm available.  If the circle representing a gun is white, it is available.  If it is blue, it is occupied.  If it is red, it has been destroyed.  Click on the gun position you would like to occupy.  Then hit ESC to bring your clipboard back up, and hit the "H" button to go to your gun and begin shooting.

Happy1, don't be embarrassed. You did actually request a step by step numbered way to do it and we didn't really fill your prescription, so to speak. That's our or my fault, not yours.
Come back if you still need help and we'll fill the exact prescription.
Maybe going thru it with someone on voice would help. If that's the case I'll give you a yell if/when I see you and we can talk our way thru it.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

:D TY ... TY ... TY StarOfAfrica, named after the famous 1942 WW2
German Ace w/158 kills, Hans-Joachim Marseille, who died in an
aircraft malfunction in Africa.   He's certainly 1 to emulate.

All in all, I'm thanking u 4 giving me EXACTLY what I wanted, now,
combined w/my treasure trove of "PRINTED OUT" info from Bullet-
head & fuze, I am more than ready to begin my training on the
big guns.  This completes my manual of data, btw ur instructional
email is Page1 of my compiled manual.

I followed ur instructions & am happy to say that I was where I
wanted to be, I tried firing the 5" on aircraft & scored my 1st kill
after the 6th shot ... need lots of practice to perfect myself.  My
manual was open at fuze's & Bullethead's instructions  ;)

fuze, thx much 4 ur kind offer & words of encouragement, I sincerely appreciate it.    Once again TY 1 & all 4 ur help  :aok

Cheers,

Happy1  :D
