New Version Convergence
« on: April 13, 2005, 11:07:37 PM »
After downloading the latest and greatest tonight, I flew a B-24 mission with me squaddies!  You know, just to kill something.  Low and behold, I was hosing, er shooting my 50's, at the enema's on me 6 and discovered I couldn't hit the broad side of me barn!  Avast Mates!  Shiver me timbers! (not unusual)
Welst, I peg-legged me way to the firing range to ask if me guns were out of calibration!  I got a HAR and what do ye think they told me?  OK - Yes, I am ugly, and I smell, but what else besides that?

There is no "Set Calibration" option on me 2 favorite buffs now.  The B-24 and the B-17.  Is this a Cutthroat feature, or is it for everyone?  I'd hate to think me mates would have an advantage over other scoundrels! What with we pie-rats being a fair-minded lot and all...wouldn't wannna take advantage, ye know!

There's been no calibration on bomber guns in a long time. They're all set at 500 yds, IIRC. Has been this way since, uh, a while ago.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't fly that much lately, and certainly do not regularly check convergence settings, but every other buff has the option.  Why are these 2 singled out?  Makes no sense.
When was that option deleted?  HT?  Just asking...

Um, I can't nail down the dates offhand, but its definitely been a few patches ago. I think maybe so much as 8 months or more. I can remember being able to manually edit the .cfg files for bombers, but they later set all gun positions convergences at 500yds. As far as I know, only the forward firing fixed guns (b26, val) can be adjusted. I can't tell you which patch/update was precisely the one that had the change, but it's been several months at a minimum if I remember correctly. Surely someone knows; if not, it's likely to appear in the older readme files for the patches.

Only on buffs with fixed front guns you can set calibration and then the calibration is only for the fixed forward guns.

hubsonfire is correct it's 500 yds.

The previous convergence was 1000 yds and even though you thought you changed it in the hanger, it didn't work, it's hard coded.  I never thought to try to manually edit the .cfg file to see if that would work lol.
Easy in-game again.

I found the readme file for 201 Version, the first patch for AH2 stated that some planes/vehicles don't have the option and that was also when the B24 was added.  Thanks all for the response.
