Jihad, this is not the time for this. We know you hate Bush, but this is an "us against them" situation.

AIRBORNE OPERATIONS CENTER.  Why do you think he went to Barksdale?  To change planes.  They probably had an alert bird there (or they flew one in from Offut).  He wisely is doing exactly what the operations plans tell him to do.  That is, stay in the air and away from DC when an attack is made on the military chain of command.

What I suggest is something entirely different- the Pentagon was attacked, the White House was rumored to be shadowed by a mysterious plane, and there was a missing jet liner out there. The logical thing to do was to remove him from threat. Taking him underground is smart, and what I would expect them to do.

You suggest he is cowering under a table somewhere, I suggest he is in a room full of the best political, intelligence and military minds our country has trying to discern what to do next.

Don't use this tragedy to further a political agenda.

for another time in a row, I agree with Kieren.

Jihad, god knows I dont like Bush at all. But he is the president of the USA, and the security protocols he is following are more than explainable.

ANY President of the USA would've done just as Bush has done in this situation. Even more, is the SMART thing to do. In the case of a nation emergency the thing is clear, the president is to be kept safe at all costs. That means that his location must be kept secret.

What do you want, him to stay in a position when he is vulnerable?. What if he went straight to the White House and yet another jet comes down on it?. The last thing you want now is to get your president dead and your leadership beheaded.

That is just my opinion, with my VERY limited knowledge of this issues.

Kinda interesting when a Spanish citizen (that's where you're from, right ram?) understands security protocols for the US President better than an American citizen...  jihad, what do you think Clinton or Gore would have done?  The exact same thing Bush is doing.

He'll be on the way to DC as soon as it's deemed safe.  He'll address the nation again once he has more facts.  It would be premature for the President to make a full speech on this issue at this time.

Ahh, CNN just reported that Bush is heading back to DC now.

I'm left of most of you and lord knows, I don't like Dubya... but he's doing the right thing. I don't agree with the current administration on a ton of issues, but on this, I am completely supportive.

Now... I bet he wishes he had that cash he sent all of us this summer... This is gonna be expensive and well spent.

Jihad,

Dunno what the fek your problem is but look at some things here.

1. Terrorist attack on US soil.
2. No definite fail safe way to prohibit additional attacks.
3. Security protocall is to safe guard the Pres., Congress and senior officials in line of succession from the IMMEDIATE threat.
4. Continue to monitor and take steps to secure the situation with available intel.

Now once these things have been done what elsde to be done. Add additional forces to rescue / treatment of injured. Most of this is done at the lower level, state and city. The state has option of calling out the Guard. They did that. Additional help in the way of Federal forces is awaiting orders to proceed OUTSIDE of the initial response to block further air attacks. Right now more folks would likely be in the way until the innitial security is achieved.

FAA already grounded all civilian flights to clear the air.

Air Force launched ready fighters to CAP Washington and NY.

All ground forces on full alert.

All civilian police on alert. Even the Canadian and Mexican borders are partially closed.

Now just what the fek else do you expect to have been done?!?!?!?!?!

There is NO DEFINED enemy target. No RESPONSIBLE agency / govt. / organization has been unqualifiably determined to have done this act.

With no target, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT TO HAVE HAPPENED?!?!?!?! You don't just shoot the hell out of other countries or forces unless you KNOW they were responsible. Hell, even on Dec 7th when we were sure hostile action was coming we didn't go out and attack. War was declared on Dec 8th AFTER we had Japan's and Germany's declaration. no real investigation was needed.

Now just go cool off and try to understand the Pres. IS NOT THE ONE RESPONSIBLE TO DO EVERYTHING. Until there is hard INTEL he would be damned STUPID to fly off the handle and make a lot of statements. That keeps options open. If he makes a statement that we are going to hit Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, bin ladin, kadafi or whoever else it becomes policy. Find the info, confirm it THEN act.

In the mean time it's pretty imbecilic to just make speaches and expose one third of the Govt. of this country to the threat.

If the previous administration had handled bin ladin or all other terrorist organizations differently we might have not had this incident. Now how's that for speculation? Does that make you feel all better??

You want to do something? Go donate blood. There are people who need it now.

If Bush decides to nail these cowards using a full scael military response, I will gladly send back the money I got back on the tax cut for I see no better use for it than to erradicate the world of these slimy excuses for human beings.

Jihad, this hasnt been just 4 planes kidnapped and crashing intentionally into important buildings.

There was a bomb car in the Sec. of State aswell, do you remember?. Who knows if the danger is over AT THIS MOMENT?. This is not just four planes falling from the sky, this is a hint that the unexpected...must be expected. Dont tell me is over, I saw the second plane crashing into the WTC in direct in the TV.

If there is something that surprises me about this thing is that I dont see ANY sense to it. I mean to kick USA this way is going to get you people VERY angry; and only a stupid would do that. No man in his senses or with the slightest intelligence will do such an enormous mistake as underestimating the US response to this action.

I dont know if there is more to come. I sure as hell hope that not, but I dont see the point in this attack. It was well planned. It was well executed. And that makes me thing that no stupid planned it. So it MUST have a purpose. Wich?. No idea.

I think there is more to come. And i think that until EVERYTHING is over, Bush shouldnt come out in public.
