Any cure for embedded tanks?
« on: April 15, 2005, 11:39:38 PM »
I was playing in tank town tonight and kept having the same problem: I would see tanks, shoot at them only to discover they were on the far side of a hill that I was seeing through.
I haven't seen this problem in quite a while. Is there something I can do to my video settings to make this go away or is this a bug with the new patch?
Any help would be appreciated.

I know it's a stretch, but you could start the engine and move
till the hill was no longer in the way...just a thought.

Problem is I can't tell if I'm moving on a tank that's on the far side of the hill and can't see me or if I'm moving on a tank that's on my side of the hill and is lining me up for a shot.
I have been moving, but I'd also like to figure out a way to cure the invisible grass and dirt thing. It would sorta add to the whole realism thing if hills would quit disappearing.

Gotcha, this a form of the seeing the tracks through the hill
bug, or do you actually see the entire vehicle?

I'm seeing the whole gv. It's like the hill isn't even there. The only indication I get is when, crack shot that I am, I shoot at them and they don't immediately disappear in a fiery ball. They usually don't even turn their turrets because, being safe on the other side of the inviso-hill, they don't know that some lamer is shooting at them.
