On the other hand, borrowing an idea from current events.

How about merit based pay. If you do not win, you do not get paid. If you lose then you forfiet pay due since after the last win. I'd bet it would put a fire under any teams performance.

True Mav, but what would happen if say you played for a team like the Cubs or the Rockies....

Those guys, especially the latter, would be eligible for food stamps!   :D

Pay everybody a good base salary. Then each game has a big pot split amongst the winners with starters getting the lion's share of the bucks.
