What Port Seetings do I need to enter into My Router?
« on: April 23, 2005, 06:20:46 AM »
Guys

New to this. Haven't even started playing online yet - because...I need (I think) to enter some Port details for AH  into my hardware DSL Router.

What are the exact Port numbers and types that I need to enter sinto my port-forwarding pages of my Router so I can play the game online from behind my Router Firewall?

Many thanks

Winco

You don't need to enter any special ports into your router to play AHII.

the only time...I think... you need to enter port numbers to your router would be if you were going to Host a head to head arena. The open ports allow others to join your "arena". Other than that, you should be good to go.

Maddog is correct. Most modern cable/DSL routers will open the approptriate ports if the initiating request comes from the routers inside interface (your side of the router), then any traffic from the address you requested a connection with, i.e. HTC can pass data through your router. You only need to open ports if you are going to accept initiating requests from the outside interface (the internet), i.e. H2H hosting.
