Here's a game, but due to the internet you'll need to play it on honor. Every time you win a fight your reward is to drink a shot or beer. Usually after the first 8 or 9 fights things start getting pretty even.

Morph you have the same problem when flying drunk as I do. You cut  your verticle part of the rolling scissors too short when  you get ahead, probably from the desire to maintain visability on your opponent. If you held your nose up a moment longer on each iteration OR cut throttle more when nose down you'd have won much earlier.

I dont want to take away from Wadke's flying at all P.

He is one bad man in that F6. He really knows how to fly it, and fly it well.

Regardless of how much I had to drink lol.

I see alot of mistakes I made in that film. Which is the beauty of the film itself. To learn.

I noticed what you meantioned among other things. Small adjustments I can make on 1st and 2nd merge and also to USE all 6 50s most of all.

The big thing we go in there for is fun. When there's a bunch of us in there, there's always some awsome fights to be had. And the dumber you fly sometimes the more fun it gets. For me, i have alot of fun with my dumbness! :P

Also found a few things about the F6 I'll have to work on. For one it doesnt hold E like other planes I fly. And it wont go vert well with not much E to work with. Im talking 140mph or so.

Taking a 38 and flipping it end for end at a near dead stop or taking it by the rudders and and swapping ends, is alot easier to do than in an F6 I've found haha. Again, thats the beaty of getting your butt beat up by a guy like Wadke. Who knows the F6 alot better than I do.

School was in session that night for me. hehe

Wadmaster being the teacher!

Morph you should try out rudder pedals...they would have made half of those shots deadly.

I have been talking alot about them lately. Talked with Nath and Levi about them. I would like to try them the problem is after all the years of using just a regular joystick with twist rudder, i am almost afraid to change over to peds.

Also for the price of the CH gear now, if i didnt like them... i'd be out all that money for nothin. 8(

Im sure sooner or later I will fold and end up with them but the change will be tough I'm sure.

Thanks for the tip tho.

What imporvment's are you speaking of btw? Im quite curious as the the advantages/disadvantages with pedls.

There are no disadvantages to pedals, other than it will take you a few weeks to get used to them. I cant beleive you do what you do now without them.

When I went to pedals I had about a month of just horrible trouble getting used to them.  Now that I've made the adjustment I wouldn't go back.  I pretty much took a  leap of faith and bought the CH setup sight unseen and I'm happy I did.

Great film guys finally had a chance to look at it.. found myself talking to the screen a lot... I'd love to get my hands on the unedited (read .ahf) format so I could hear the stall horn and such (does it even play in the film viewer?  I can't remember) several times I noticed I was thinking oh if he only moved his nose a half inch more... then I'd realize that you probably couldn't but without the audio feedback from the FM it was hard to really see what was going on.. also I'd love to be able to hear the throttle adjustments, flap manipulation.

Finally I'll have to let either one of you fine gents kick me around a little in the DA in the F6F.  I need some pointers.. I feel like I've leveled off and I"m not learning much anymore.  I can beat the rabble more often than not but I get my butt handed to me by the vets. :)

nice vid.

You could always pay $80 for a Thrustmaster Afterburner 2...has a throttle with a rocker switch for the rudders.  Flip a switch, and you're right back to twist stick.
Flying has been much more fun after dumping the regular twist stick for it.

Don't like it?  Take it back...tell 'em the hat switch is broken.

The disadv with pedals is that you need to keep your feet on them.

I like to pull one leg up in under me when I sit infront of the computer. I dont really like sitting with my feet in one place all the time.

Guess Im just too much of a comfyoldfart.

Rocker paddle rocks though.

goob, i have an account by a b26 pilot that witnesses a p51 vs. 5 fw190's on the deck. the pony driver gets them  all ,the last by dropping everything and causing the 190 to spin in,in a stall fight around a hill. its an incredibly cool story ,i'll post it sometime if i can type it all.

Neither is the situation here really compearable to RL.

A totally isolated fight between two planes with no danger of any interuption and the two planes beeing exactly identical, that never ever happened.

Morph,

There's something about controlling separate inputs with your feet.  With a twisty stick you're using your hand to control your pitch and roll while also trying to precisely position your rudder(ie guns) onto a target.  Rudder pedals allow you to use your feet to guide your bullets while using your hand for ACM.  I think it makes everything alot easier and you will find yourself making impossible shots at one time or another.  Atleast I did.
