38 I thought it had cleared up on my end because for the last week or so I have had no problems. Logged in last night and had to sit for about 20 minutes for it to clear up again.   :(

I sent a picture of this to Skuzzy WAY back!

I kept asking everyone on 200 if they had a ramping kinda affect in their variance.  I called it ramping cause that's what it reminded me of, little ramps.

Also sometimes it went negative!  As in going below the line.

I was asked if I had anything running in the background.

What I found with my machine is that it only happpened during the 1st sortie or so then steadied out to flat line.

Didn't seem to have too much of an effect on anything, but that may be due to the way I fly.  I usually up from a unvulched base and head to a fight.  That takes 10 to 20 minutes sometimes.  Maybe the stutters are all worked out before I reach a fight.

Also has anyone else noticed that savvis.net added in extra hops to each savvis area?  Where I had 1 hop through LA savvis I now have 2 or sometimes 3.  And if it goes through any other savvis hop I get another added hop through the same area.  I went from 10 hops to 14 or 15!  12 to 16 or 17!

What's with that???????

Although its not been the issue tonight, I've had this problem in the past. As near as I can tell, its always been due to heavy intardnet traffic. I tend to only get that odd sawtooth/box wave on net status after 3pm on fridays through sunday. While an overload of the ISP may not be the root of your problem, it appears to be the root of mine.

In response to HT's question from a much earlier post, yes, mine does suddenly return to normal, but fairly late in the evening.

well this must be one of those things that we are just going to have to live with i guess . Im still seeing this (more often as of late )  quite often  .  I amagine that if i still have the problem , so do most of you guys , just checking to see if anyone stumbled across something or maybe contacted HTC directly .   38

You can have the very same pattern after using a p2p application or when connecting if your ISP give you the IP of someone who have done lot of p2p

Or if spyware is running as well.  That Variance is indicative of the CPU being pulled away from the game to handle other things.  Spyware/Malware programs, anti-virus programs, firewalls, excess network traffic inbound and a melee of other things can cause that Variance.

Well i am 99% sure that it isnt spyware, malware related . Ive done many reformates , had all the updates and servicepacks on CD. Never connected to internet explorer , or any other tpe of browser or update site . SO fresh install , fire up AH2 , and Still get the same pattern. As do many other people that have posted here .  As far as P2P, ive personally never done any. As far as getting someones IP that has been , I have three different isp's , 3 different routes to 216.91.187.39.  Still the same . My system is barebones at startup 11 proccess , and i never run anything in the back ground .   Hardware ive swapped out , Basically everything except the CPU, CDRW, Floppy .   Ping plotter for the most part is fine , No packet loss , well sometimes i get a dropped packet or two  at savvis in chicago, but that has been rare as of late .

I can watch the cpu in taskmanager with AH2 minimized , Nothing pulls the cpu away except the system  idle proccess, might bump the cpu from time to time .  I run no firewall or antivirus , and am on a dialup connection with an external hardware USR modem , so im not sure i would be getting excessive network traffic , but who knows . Ive also tried 3 different modem , No luck. I can also watch the network connection , and nothing uses any network resourses when the connection is idle .   No IRQ' s are sharing anything , ANYOTHER IDEAS, im open to any suggestions at this point 38
