Hans Rudel had 16 kills I believe... were any of these shot down from his Stuka? I would imagine that he would have made these kills while flying his FW.

You are right, Rudel had 11 kills with his Focke-Wulf 190. With His Stuka, he became the most highly decorated Combat Aviator of all time.

I remember reading about him flying the 190 is the book, though it is called "Stuka Pilot"
I don't remmeber which 190 version, and since the book doesn't have  asearch function I am too lazy to find out.
I would think he'd get the 190 F since that was a dedicated ground attack plane.

Better read that book again or get a better translation...

Rudel surrendered at Kitzingen flying Ju- 87G-2 'Black <- + -' Wk. Nm. 494110.

Here's a picture:

Rudel's last aircraft crashed and surrounded by Americans at Kitzingen, 8 May 1945

Here's a link to the othr aircrtaft that landed at

The Surrender of SG2, 8 May 1945

Diablo is correct in that some of you could benefit from learning to do a proper internet search rather then just 'making stuff up'...

As for Rudel's air-to-air kills there's lots of doubt surrounding them just like there is around his whole career.

The guy was a lunatic 'warrior' but I wouldn't put much stock in his claims given the overall lack of proof / evidence to support them.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm probably mixing it up with some other book.

Mora, judging from the surrender you described i think i know the book you mean, but i cant remember if it is Footsteps of the Hunter or I Fought You From the Skies (aka Alert in the West)....Stuka Pilot p.215 has Rudel giving a aerobatic display at Kummer very late in the war, after Easter in 1945

I read a book which said he flew the FW 190F on the Russion front against tanks at one point but, his main a/c was the Stuka.
(don't need to do an internet search for that one...I read a book) :)
