Open for critique - 190a5

As mentioned in my "couple of 190a5s" post I'm just about done with one of my skins. To refresh your memories or in case you didn't see the other thread (which will be my global project thread), here is a slightly blurry picture.

To minimize review time once I submit the skin, I'd like some feedback from the board as to any critiques anybody might have. E-mail me, PM me, or heck, just reply to this saying you're interested and I'll e-mail you the skin, then get back to me with suggestions (if any).

The idea is to not have Skuzzy send it back saying "I think this XXXXX needs work", and save back-and-forth time on getting it approved. Anybody interested?

Ditto , to much compression IMO.

cc, what do you recommend? PNG? TGA? I find PNG darkens the image a lot, and same for TGA but then it might just by my system.

You dont need to make it different format but you need to make it bigger pictures. That way its easier to see planelines and wathering, which is almost impossible to see atm.

Tex.

You can use jpg  with a 0-25% compression.

Notes: Skin viewer doesn't show some problems but they show up in game.

I already have on my to-fix list:
Black seams on cowl gun texture
random pixels on outer gun pods
color off on outer gun pods
Centerline rack covers MG shell chutes (nothing I can do).

Converted to JPGs with level 7 quality (Using PS 5.0's quality system of 1 to 10)

I suggest JPG with 0% compression or 100% quality. But another inportant thing (PITA though) is to change AH video to use 1024 textures and run it in 1280X1024 or better when you take your screenies. When I took mine (Red-1) I was getting unplayable FPS readings, but they were certainly adequate for external view screenshots.

I always fly 1024 res! :)

But I limit myself to 1024 screen size as well. I simply cropped the images to save file-size and bandwidth off my server (200kb for a single JPG? Hrm.. crop out the unnecessary parts -- voila! 70kb per file now!)

Straffo, my apologies! They don't call me the Typo King for nothing!

But also note that in English a viola is a stringed instrument similar to a violin, but producing a different sound.

yep a "Viole" in French not to be confused with a "Viol" (rape) even if we never pronounce the ending "e" :)

The only hint is we say :

Une viole
Un viol

and for once in the case of "une" we pronounce the ending "e"

just to confuse the foreigners :D
