there is a general reference book published by rand mcnally that is fraught with errors and ommissions but is still a good general guidelines source.  I believe it's called the rand mcnally encyclopedia of military aircraft authored by enzo angelucci.  I hope it helps.

One of the big problems with any such list is that the actual dates can vary.

There's the date of the prototype, the date of the first production-approved model, the date the first unit flew them in action, the date when the model was fully deployed to all units for which it was used. Those dates from 1st to last can be years apart. Then you add in all the variants like the Gustav for example...the original G came out a few years before the last, even with the G6 there were sub variants.

I'm pretty sure the Ki-84 saw service earlier than that.  It was the most produced Japanese fighter in 1944.  I'd be surprised if it didn't see combat until two thirds of the way through.

The Ki-84 Hayate was introduced into service by the 22th Sentai (JAAF) in China during August-October 1944. In Izawa's book (JAAF Fighter units), the history shows them arriving on August 24,1944. During 6 weeks in China ,they claimed ~40 victories (destroyed/damaged) before leaving on October 2,1944.

They lost their CO, MAj. Iwahashi in an attack on Xian A/F on September 21,1944 when he supposedly rammed a P-47. They left their Ki-84s when they returned to Japan

On November 11,1944 3 P-51s of the 23rd FG were shot down by Ki-84s. Since by then the 22th Sentai had left China.

The Spit V in AH saw service in August '42 (no earlier then July with 16lbs boost).

P-47D-11 04/01/43 - should be early '44 unless you using it as a stand for a D-5 or something.

The Typhoon as modeled in AH is another r'44 variant unless you claim it as a stand in.

For that matter any number of those aircraft can be used as 'stand-ins' however if its just a 'furball arena' there isn't any need for 'stand ins' are there. If so then it would make sense to date the actual plane in AH correctly. You can then adjust planes by performance as necessary to bring about parity.

I didn't read the other thread (or reply there) because I don't really care about that subject. I will will say the CT is a complete flop and has been for sometime. Get rid of it and make it a fighter town but you would need more the 8k mountains and wind to stop the tards from clubbing the seals.

The Hurricane Mk I went into service in December of 1937

The 109E's first appeared in operation in Sept. 1939

The Spitfire Mk I first arrived in operation sometime in 1938

F4F-3 entered service at the end of 1940

The list goes on and on, and no doubt there will be many different inputs about which plane came along when.  However, there can be no doubt as to which fighter holds the record for number built..  The 109 of course...and when it comes to bombers of the era, the B-24 Liberator takes the cake

You're making a fundamental error here... You're finding the start date for the plane in real life, then applying it to a specific version. Example, *WE* have a SpitV that has +16 boost, which is a much later version than the first ever spitV. You didn't see spitVs with +16 that early, that's for sure.

Example: You state the date of the E-4, but the nearly identical E-3 was in service before that date, for some time (E-3/4 have been considered the same plane by everyone everywhere), so that date isn't necessarily valid when comparing to others.
