Help - joystick problems!
« on: May 09, 2005, 06:20:04 PM »
Hi, just downloaded the game and it looks great.

The problem I'm having is getting my joystick working.  It's a standard 2 axis 4 button with a throttle and hat.  It's set up and calibrated fine under XP and does what it should.

However, in AcesHigh the up down axis works fine, the side-side axis doesn't do anything, and zero throttle is fine, but when I put the throttle to full, it also puts the side-side axis all the way to the left!

I'm sure there must be a way to sort this out, please help me as I'm dying to play the game!!

The joystick is an old Saitek AceMaster 18, but that shouldn't be relevant.  None of the AcesHigh config seems to make a difference - don't understand how it's fine in XP and not in the game.  Game port is on a Soundblaster Live.

Thanks in advance!
:)

At the tower page hit setup, controls, joystick, select joystick, then highlight your joystick in the left pane and then hit set all inputs. See if that works.

Many thanks.

I have it working now - it seems that I had misunderstood the config page - I assumed that all the axes would be set up automatically.

Now my only problem is that I'm utterly hopeless at it! :rofl

Just be sure to ASK BEFORE sending a join request. Almost everyone will let you join after asking :)
