Del, have you considered placing the hats where they're more readily accesible without a lot of wrist breaking?

Homeboy, I just took another look at this ...thing from a nightmare you build, and I gotta ask;

I did not build this.  My one-armed friend Brando from across the pond built it.  I just provided the lefty handle.

Here is the link outlining the development.  Brando is a great guy and a tremendous inspiration.

Holy necro-bump! Anyways, Del, from my experience on the CH quadrant throttle, I don't think it would be very convenient to use those switches left and right of the levers. IMO, if you could put 4 or 8-way hats on the BACK side of the throttle levers, IMO that would be most comfortable.

I usually end up resting my fingers on the lever balls rather than the palm of my hand. The way it sits, I can adust multiple levers easily and independently. However, I can't ready access the buttons on the base of the unit (and I doubt I'd be able to use the ones pictured that you made without seriously readjusting my grip). However, I could keep my fingers on the levers AND use the switches if they were on the backside of the lever, where my fingers naturally rest.

Just a thought in regards to custom layouts. I don't know if it's possible or not.

About 2 weeks after I completed the throttle, I changed the angle of the hats to more closely mimic the original Prothrottle. I wanted the throttle to feel exactly like a Prothrottle so my fingers wouldn't have to relearn the view keys all over again.

I use the hat switches on the far left as macro keys, to fit the board and extend all that wiring wasn't worth the work involved.

Very cool Delirium.  Well done.  I'll be on the look out for the final product.
