Freeze Frame & Das Boot

No not the Song and the Movie.....

Gettin locked up with a frozen frame ever since last upgrade....and also boots to desk top.

At first I thought it was the vid card, but ruled that out because it does not happen when I'm in the TA or CA only in MA. So I rechecked my video adjustments and they were okay. Deleted and then dowloaded AH2 again....same thing...get frozen frames inbetween the first 4 to 7 minutes and it seems like just when I'm about to engage. The frame freezes up and I get a squealing noise as if I was on a dial up modem.... I have cable.
Or I get booted to either desktop or start up. Remind you this only happens in MA.

What can I do? This only started after the last upgrade.

Don't rule out Vid card drivers just because it ain't happenin' in the other arenas. The MA puts the heaviest load on your system. Check your Vid Drivers and make sure they are the right ones for your card. That may not be the newest. Search the BBS or post your card here and you will find out which is the right driver for your card. This new version will expose problems if your drivers is not the correct one for your particular card.

Check out your audio card drivers. These can also be a problem. Check your audio excekkeration settings. Should be set to 3/4. Are you using any onboard devices? Audio, LAN? these can also be a problem.

OPTIMIZE your system! Can't stress this enough. With the new version off AH you need to make sure nothing is taking resources away from the game. AH is a very intensive game. WAY more than other games like FPS's. I am going to post an explination of setting up dedicated hardware profiles for AH in this forum.

Clifra Jones thanks!  I did the set up a dedicated hardware profiles for AH and It seemed to help. Still had a few frame freezes and 1 CTD, but no where like the last few days. I also seen an increase in my FPS's.

I havent done anything to the drivers yet because I wouldn't know where to start for that matter.  If you had a step by step list of how to do it I would give it a shot.

Again, Thanks.

Might want to check the fan on the video card as well, lockups can also be hardware related if the GPU is overheating or overclocked.

Mac, it helps if you post what's in your system. Or just look up your video card on this BBS I'm sure you will find what you need.
