Not to start the VSync contraversy all over again BUT, a few observations for everyones information.
I have seen posts about players experiencing momentary screen freezes. These are my experiences with this.
While experimenting with my new whizbang 6600GT vid card in my new 3.2Ghz system I turned vsync off. Monitor refresh @ 85Hz. I never have gotten over 85 fps in the MA with this system so I'm thinking this is OK.
Sitting in the tower I start looking side to side. I have my microstick on my CH throttle setup to control views so I can spin views pretty fast. I start seeing the window frames splitting. I think OK, that could be some tearing because of vsync being off. No big deal I can live with that. Then while diving on a bandit I get this microsecond freeze frame like someone snapping a picture. Very annoying.
Went back out of game, turned vsync back on, no drop in FPS, problem gone.
Like I said I don't want to start the vsync controversy up again here, just wanted to inform the community of my experience. vsync off may work perfectly well on your system and turning it on may solve this freeze frame problem for some others.
