Do you feel older and wiser?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Birthdays have the opposite effect on me.

When my birthdays hit, I allow myself a brief moment of retrospection that always ends up as a gut-wrenchingly humiliating experience a la "you are such a complete idiot."

It would be great to be able to say "another year older, another year wiser." But... no, mostly it feels like those moments after spending a night out drinking. Because...

The next morning, you don't just awake.... Something compells you to bolt upright out of bed.... sweating, with fear. "My God".... you tell yourself.... "What have I done?"

Neither actually, but abit sad i must confess. Closer to 40 than 20 and that kinda sucks.

Why?

Just curious. It usually takes a day or two for the "landmark" birthdays to set in.

True.

No major panic attacks yet, but i havent been drunk either and kept myself busy. Perhaps it all sinks in later tonight when i break open the whisky I have been saving for my 30.

I will offer this bit of sage advice. You have entered the "carpe diem" age.

Well.. I have lived by that motto since my mid 20's, but you are right.
