I have the x45 and its a good stick except they tend to break.  How is the x52 for reliability?

The stick itself is a big sloppy mess, but the throttle is great. I use the logitech EX3D PRO in the joysticks place, and just run it in conjunction with the X52 throttle. Beware, your mouse will go crazy, just calibrate the X52 throttle before gameplay, and you will be good. (BTW, I have a brand new X52 Stick for sale, reply if you want to trade anything Flightsim related)

I haven't ventured into running the throttle with the CH Pro rudder  yet, but it could be done. I'm in CT hoopy twisty stick mode till I get adventurous.

is the x52 stick compatible with the x45 throttle?  If so I'd probably be interested for the right price..

Given my experiences with the x45 the big issue is reliability.  I would be happy with the x45 if it just was built to a higher standard.  Have folks been having the same quality issues with the 52 as they have been with the 45?

I just bought the X52.  I was using a Microsoft Precision Pro.  The X52 has a very wide range, so to get full elevator deflection you have to move the stick several inches.  The force required to move the rudder is two to three times of that to move the stick, so its unbalanced.

I wish microsoft still made Precisions Pros.  I tried a logitech 3d pro extreme and it was awful.  Overall I would rate the X52 stick-rudder setup about 75% as effective as the MS Precision Pro.

I think it will last longer, but if you are used to the X45 stick, this will feel like a CH product. It's down right sloppy.

Minus the shipping, I will hook you up for just about anything in fair trade.

It's a "twisty stick" right?

I have had my x-45 for 3 years, it's held up great

Ditto on the microswitches. I've found that you can triple their life if you lubricate them with silicone though. Do you think that the X-52 has the same crappy microswitches?
