The whole point to freedom, is being able to do things like display the flag like you want or burn it etc.

I would never burn one, nor do I respect anyone who would, but it is their choice and right.

You do not have to agree with everything behind the flag to gain the freedoms that it reprasents.

(Hang, I am not saying you a flag burner or anything)

Correct you are for display on staionary objects. (if the object moves, the flag should be displayed as if flying relative to the motion of the object)

I have made the required adustment, and thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Ah, I just ripped Nukeinheimer a new brown eye in another thread and was feeling a mite magnanimous.

I'll get over it. :)

If a small flag bumper sticker was displayed on the rear of a vehicle, then which way should it be facing?

 :)

Hehe..

I appreciate you changing that..

It's a huge pet peeve of mine..

When we are traveling I'm constantly pointing out wrongly flown flags.. And asking.. why is that flag at 3/4 mast, there is now holiday today that requires the flag to be at half staff..

Why is that flag faded and being flown? -there is a song that gives a great reason for a faded flag being flown though, love it-

I've been doing it forever.. ever since I knew how to respect the flag..

Stars in the upper left.  Unless the small flag is placed on the inside of the rear window, where while installing it you would be facing aft, then the field would then be toward your upper right, which would be the vessels port side as you are facing aft. But if you face to the bow, it would be to the port which would be your left.  If however if you are facing starboard, the field would then be behind you and up.

As you suggested originally.

Why is the flag sometimes backwards on the side of airplanes, buses, and other vehicles?

The flag decals have the union (the blue area with the stars) on the side closer to the front of the plane. On the plane's left, the decal shows the flag with the union at the left, as usual. On the plane's right side, the union is on the right. This is done so that the flag looks as if it is blowing in the wind created by the forward movement. You can see this on cars and trucks as well. Click to see pictures of the flag decals on Air Force 1.

.....And be carefull out there when shopping for shirts, flags, etc concerning the Stars And Bars. There is a lot of fake and incorrect things out there.

Those rules and regulations are wrong...at least from the Navy's point of view..

If a Chaplain is performing services onboard a Naval Vessel, the Church pennant is flown ABOVE the Flag.

This is however the only instance I know of that anything is flown above it.

You seperation of church and state guys should love that one:D
