I noticed they are making hero TV movies of McCain now.   He is as close to a democrat as a republican gets.   even hollywood likes him.

He'll run as a Republican in 2008 as an anti Bush policies candidate and pledge to get the USA out of Iraq, cause by 2008 most Americans will realize what a hopeless quagmire Iraq is and want US out... it'll be until 2012, maybe 2016, before we have a Democrat in the White House again because they have nobody to run.

Anyone want to put down a little wager on the next President being Dem or Rep?

I'll take the Dems, but I want odds. I think they'll win......... I just want the odds to fatten the purse at low risk.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

I'll give you even money and take McCain, and I'll let you go double or nothing whan McCain wins that he's elected as a maverick Republican on a get US Out of the Mideast platform.

He'll also run on a tougher border policy.

This was all arranged between senior Republicans before Bush's reelection- if Iraq goes well McCain runs as a status quo Republican, if not he runs as a anti war candidate.

It's the biggest win-win since Clinton bought opposing options on Tyson Foods stock.

I wouldn't touch that bet :) The time should be ripe for a Democrat, but they can effortlessly **** up a wet dream. Maybe they will get in focus by next election under Dean's leadership, find an electable candidate, effectively campaign and get the vast moderate vote from both sides (plus the hard core liberals like the Repubs. Get the Christian conservatives). Then again, maybe they will run another snoozer candidate - or a Hillary - and be reactive and on the defensive for the whole campaign like last time. Maybe the youth of America will actually put down the Playstation controller and stumble to a voting boot, who knows :)

It would be worth electing her just to see the spittle spray coming out of the right wing demagogs...

Hell, we might get a dem majority due solely to heart attacks in the senate.

re: Bush fans

I thought this was an "off-shoot" of the porn star thread and that maybe Mrs. Roo responded. (no offense meant ;) )

Very disappointed.
