I had a similar incident believe it or not. Your CF is pretty robust and should've survived the water immersion without an issue. Your Camera....well...what I did was call Canon USA and they made me an offer I basically couldn't refuse. Upgrade for $175.00 or spent between $150 and 300 to get it fixed. It worked, it is a refurb but it might as well be new - works great. Sucks to have to go through it again but thats how life is sometimes. Buzz me if you need NFO on how to do that if that is the route u wanna go.

Got a call on my cell the other day... silence.. then gibberish... then silence..

My 18 month old granddaughter had taken mommy's phone and called me by accident. Her Mom lets her play with that stuff all the time. Glad I'm the Grandpa so I don't have to care too much.

what is it with woman and apeasing children???

When my son was about 6-10 months he was chewing on alot of things and they would just give him somthing to chew on to shut him up.

One time they gave thim this little plastic container that looked like a candy dispenser. I went to change his diaper and didn't think anything of it untill I heard this blood curlding scream come from him.

Turns out it was a thing of lime salt that my mother in law was putting in her beer at the time. My son had used his tooth (singular) to open it and it spilled all over his left eye. I was the only one to stay calm at first and rush him to the bath and run cold water over his face for a few minutes. After that I was asofudginglutly furious.

I can get a used replacement on ebay for about $115 - 160 but If I can upgrade why not.

Yeah.... you have a point, but now im back to disposable cameras and they are not my problem. got one in the car and i belive the missus carries one at all times. Im out of the loop and thats just fine by me.. If there is an "emergency" shot that needs to be taken I use my cellphone that i have to carry around anyway.

Women think lifes toys are just that, material things that make them happy. It is passed on to the children and then they do not take care of or treat others property with respect. They teach them (Kids) to young to be handling valuables.

Gunslinger my buddy bought his daughter her own camera so she'd leave theirs alone. Cheap and inexpensive. Everytime they got theirs out she wanted hers too. She never asked to take pictures with theirs again since she had her own.

I let my 5 year old use our very old HP digital camera, but she has to use the neck strap. She knows not to touch the new Canon.

Great thing about Canon is their CS is top notch. Entire process from the claim to when they sent out the new refurb was 20 minutes.

Try taking the camera apart and letting it air dry

Now for the kids, best thing to do is get a box that says "dont touch", and wire one of those large capacitors to it. Now when you tell them to dont touch or open it and they try, POW! A couple of times will make them not do it anymore.

Just like putting a penny in a lightsocket, do it few times and you know better. (its a true story, dont ask)
