I like the weathering around the wingroots, but, is it supposed to be there?

From what I know (which is very little), most weathering in that area on fighters is because of people walking on it.  On a B-26, Im almost 99% sure that nobody had to walk on the wingroots on a regular basis.

Can't really see anything else different about it, unless you changed the metal some.

Yeah, Im not sure why I put it there when B26s had alot of paint chipped off the leading edges. Here is the effect I have now (different skin though)

Looks good, but don't you think the leading edge is a little intense?  Don't think it would get THAT beaten up.

right now im experimenting with it. But I've read that the B26 had an unusual amount of chipped paint and whatnot on the leading edges of the wings.

Made a new layer and used airbrush with low density (less than 10) and high opacity/hardness and spraypainted white. selected the entire layer and used the wand and removed all of the selection except the white airbrush spots, used the fill took and colored in all white (this gets high concentrated areas to be more solid and leaves the single pixels how they are). I created a new raster layer (leaving the selection and again using the fill tool colored it all a sky blue). got rid of the selection and turned the blue layer opacity down to 10, went back to the white layer and turned opacity down to 25 (depending on color of skin. on darker colors around 25 and on lighter colors like on Rosie O'Brady around 50)

If you want, while you still have the slection go back to the background layer and turn saturation down. I didnt because after painting over a metal and its been there a while, when you scrape it off, the metal usually has a little tint of whatever color paint used left in it.
