Making a new squad an new to game
« on: June 06, 2005, 10:09:37 PM »
We play WWIIOnline and are try to form a squad. We have TeamSpeak channels and forums for the game. In process of getting a web site up. If there are any small squad without these things that would like to join or any peeps out there who have some words of advice please post. We primarly want to be a bomber squad due to the lack of heavy bombers in wwiionline. We would also like to hook up with a fighter squad, maybe on their squad nite for some air cover. Again please post anything that will help us get this thing going. Our forums  address is  http://www.sfrt-igcr.net/forums/phpBB2/index.php please look under internet gaming for our post on aces high. And if any on  is thinking of playing wwiionline sometime we got you coverd like a jimmy hat.
Friends are good on the day of battle!

I thought it was bad manners to try to recruit from another games BBS - is this still the case or is this now seen as acceptable behaviour?

Btw as a flight sim WW2OL was probably the worst experience I have ever had in the last 6 years of online simming. I f I could get the 36 hours of my life back trying to get my joystick and pedals to work it would be much appreciated.

Guys, if you read his post on the link he put up, he is recruiting for an AH2 squad.

Due to the lack of heavy bombers in WWIIOnline, he wants to fly heavy bombers in THIS game.

Do a little research before jumping to conclusions.

LOL, Schaden. You're just screwed. That's why I just use a Siatek Cyborg, and leave the rest to a mouse and keyboard. Rudder pedals and throttle just screw up programming from game to game.

Yes and it may be bad manners to headhunt the way I'm doing for AH2, but I know there are small squads out there with no web sites or teamspeak comm.s or forums to help. Im trying to give these guys away to hook up with us and get somthing for it. We are a serious gaming unit and want only serious pilots or crew. Not meaning to step on any toes here.  T/y kegger26 will take you up on that when i get this up an running.

You will find most AH squads dont use Team Speak. There is a built in vox system in the game so there really isnt a need to. Same for webpages. I had one up for a year and hardly anyone from the squad checked it out. So again kind of pointless. Our squad the 361st can be found on vox chan 126. I am the C.0. Dazycutr is my X.O. Like I said we are a historical squad so we only fly P-38s, P-47s and the P-51.  On escort missions we normaly go with the P-51. So if you need an escort on rooks just tune over to 126 and hit us up.

Hey Butch, i wish you good luck with your project. In AH all players use the build in vox system, while some loose the vox support from time to time it works pretty well and has the bonus that you can talk with everyone, while teamspeak makes you an isolated group.

I am in a pure fighter squadron and i fly fighters for air to air fights most of my time. I really miss heavy bomber formations, its great to fly with or against 3,4 or more boxes of bombers. Loved the freebirds missions.

When youre squad decides to be on the knight side and you want fighter escort ask anyone of my squadron, we did and still do provide fighter escorts at times.

On Squad missions we fly Spitfire MkV or 9, if they can do the job. When it is a real long escort we might be convinced to use another RAF plane.

Some of the best flights in AH2 i had was as fighter escort or fighter sweep, i like that kind of engagement.

ciao jan
