Yo! RPM, Rotel is not Rotel, and hasn't been since it was sold in 1992. They ceased using the local chilies and tomatos soon after. If you want real "Elsa" Tomatos and Chiles (Rotel), then you need to buy whatever is canned by the Rio Grande Canning Company and locally labeled (HEB here).

edit-and it wasn't done to be evil, just to meet demand, but commodity tomatos and chilies are not the same.

Same ingredients, for sure: Tomatos and Chilies. It does not say where those tomatos and chilies are grown, but it is NOT from Elsa; they use commodity stuff, from where ever they can get it. Get a can of both and compare, Senor. We won't even get into discussing the LCD nature of the current product, heatwise.

HEB makes a queso blanco that is a good substitute for Velveeta. You can get it with or without the chiles in it. I usually go for with and add a can or 2 of Rotel also. MMMMMMmmmmm
