Is wake turbulance modeled?

Other than offering the least target area, I notice its hard to keep the pipper on a plane from close 6 position - bombers especially.

Is this a lag thing or is some type of wake turbulence modeled?

Wake turbulence is not modelled. You might have been out of trim or just have bad nose bounce (like I do)

I just wonder why its so easy to keep the pipper on a bomber when hitting it head on, from the side or from the top. From the rear up close, the pipper slides all over.

Usually because you're out of trim, you're trying to force the shot that isn't there. I don't have that problem much. I get nose bounce, sure, but I try not to force it. I hit combat trim (and then turn it off, or heck, sometimes I just leave it on). Heck I just got 6 B17 kills in a sortie (I was in Bf110G2) in the past couple of days. I had no problems.
