Now-a-days it isn't PC to remember the sneak attack.  Besides it was your grandparents for most of you that remember those times and the sacrifices of the war years.  59 years ago is along time and memories fade as that generation fades.  I'm not at all surprised at the fact that there is only one post and am not shocked when I reminded others today of this date and its role in history.  "Oh,ya" is the most common response and then the conversation returns to our mundane lives and problems.

Yup. Not even a generation ago and most people just think of it like the Roman empire or whatnot.

Sad.

Good thing there are people like the ones in the AH community who WILL remember.
